Rosemary Schaeffer has been a business psychologist for over 25 years, supporting organisations with a broad range of needs.

Rosie Schaffer

She started her career in consultancy, working firstly in a global management consultancy (PA Consulting) and later a specialist business psychology consultancy (CGR Ltd). She delivered projects for a large number of global and FTSE 500 companies as well as the public sector. These included designing and delivering both graduate recruitment and the graduate development training programme for Ford Motor Company UK and in resourcing call centre staff for the launch of First Direct.

Rosemary then moved to Greater Manchester Police, firstly as the Force Occupational Psychologist, prior to holding the role of Assistant HR Director (Organisational Development) for 10 years. Her responsibilities included: HR and L&D strategy, OD, performance management, assessment, leadership development and progression. Projects included the development and implementation of the Force Leadership Programme, which included the design of a 360° development tool, strategic team development, an internal coaching programme and high potential development programme. OD initiatives she delivered included employee engagement, conducting organisational research to inform strategy and facilitating change processes.

Since returning to consultancy in 2009, Rosemary has worked mostly in the areas of assessment and development, usually at senior management level. This has included senior leadership development programmes for clients in both the public and private sectors as well as  large scale recruitment for a range of clients. She finds that her HR experience and training is helpful in understanding the client perspective and ‘big picture’ for her work. She is an experienced coach and mediator. Rosemary has recently completed her term as Chief Assessor for the BPS Qualification in Occupational Psychology(Stage 2)  – the profession’s route to Chartership, and continues to contribute to the Qualification.
